Smaller images, faster pages

Large images are the most common cause of slow web pages. Compressing them reduces load times, saves bandwidth, and improves Core Web Vitals — all of which help SEO and user experience. This tool lets you compress JPG, PNG and WebP images with precise control.

See the savings before you download

Instead of exporting repeatedly to check the result, the Export tab displays a live estimate of the output file size and the percentage reduction as you adjust the quality slider. Switch formats to compare — WebP and AVIF almost always beat JPG and PNG at the same quality.

Compress further by resizing

If an image is larger than it needs to be displayed, resizing its pixel dimensions is the single most effective way to cut file size. Combine resizing with compression for the smallest possible files, or read our guide on resizing without losing quality.

FAQ

Questions & answers

How do I reduce the file size of an image?

Open the Export tab, choose WebP or JPG, and lower the quality slider. The live estimate shows the new file size; resizing to smaller pixel dimensions reduces it even further.

What is the best format for the smallest file?

AVIF usually produces the smallest files, followed by WebP, then JPG. WebP is the best balance of size and broad browser support.

Will compression make my image blurry?

Only at very low quality settings. Keep quality around 70–85% for photos and the result is usually indistinguishable from the original while being much smaller.

Is there a file size or upload limit?

There is no upload at all — everything is processed locally, so the only limit is your device’s memory. Very large images simply take a moment longer to process.
